Dr Aura Macias, MD is a Psychiatry Specialist. She earned her MD and Psychiatry Specialization diplomas from the Central University of Venezuela. She received training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for anxiety and depression from the Beck Institute, USA. She has over 12 years of experience in the management of psychiatric and sleep disorders
Prior to her arrival in the UAE, Dr Macias worked in SonaRes Sleep Center in Caracas, Venezuela, as head Psychiatrist in the Sleep Medicine Clinic. She has taken part in several investigation projects, conferences and workshops involving psychiatric disorders and their impact on general health. She is a founding member of the Venezuelan Academy of Sleep Medicine, under the Latin-American Federation of Sleep Medicine Societies (FLASS). She has been practising in Abu Dhabi since 2019.
Dr. Macias has a keen interest in promoting psychiatric and psychological care as a regular part of health, wellness, and quality of life.
