Dr. Taha earned his Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery in 1987 from the University of Baghdad, and began his medical career with the Ministry of Health in Iraq. He relocated to the UAE in 1989, where he served as a General Practitioner at Al Wathbah Medical Center and Pharmacy (1989–1992), followed by Emirates Polyclinic (1992–1996) and Al Noor Hospital (1999–2001).
In 2000, he obtained a Master of General Practice from the University of Otago in New Zealand, strengthening his expertise in comprehensive primary care in which he upgraded his DOH license to Specialist in Family Medicine following the completion of his postgraduate studies.
